Britney Spears has sold the rights to her music catalogue, it is reported.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the pop princess sold her ownership share of her catalogue to music publisher Primary Wave.
The figure Primary Wave paid for the rights is unknown but it is reported that the “landmark deal” was completed on 30 December, and the singer is “happy with the sale and has been celebrating by spending time with her kids”.

Britney is just one of many artists to sell the rights to their music catalogues in recent years.
Others include Justin Bieber, who sold his for around $200 million, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Nicks and Shakira.
While the move may sound dramatic, some fans have been left feeling rather celebratory.
Spears was placed under a conservatorship in 2008, meaning her financial affairs were managed by her dad Jamie Spears and attorney Andrew M Wallet.

It was ended in November 2021, after years of campaigning from fans.
Now, a number of fans are celebrating the pop icon’s decision to sell her catalogue.
Writing on X, formerly Twitter, one said: “I think everyone is missing the point. Maybe it was a stupid decision but she got to make a stupid decision. She had the freedom to do this. That’s the best part [in my opinion].”
Another agreed, writing: “Exactly like this is what she wanted… I believe this would be more of an issue if she was still an active artist but for the time being she isn’t so clearly she just wants to take control of her own business decisions and the money she makes.”
However others weren’t so sure, saying she “sold one of the greatest pop catalogues in history for a fraction of its real value”.

In this article, we show you how to encrypt files with GPG in Linux, generate key pairs, share encrypted files securely, and decrypt them.
In computing, encryption is a popular and most often the recommended technique of hiding information in a secretive format. GnuPG is one of the useful tools for encrypting information (files) on Linux systems.
GnuPG (also known as GNU Privacy Guard or simply GPG) is GNU’s tool used to encrypt data and create digital signatures that contribute to overall information security. It is a complete and free implementation of the OpenPGP Internet standard that provides an advanced key management solution.
