Check my extension for make tab chaos manageable in Chrome
I’m one of those people who always has way too many tabs open. Work stuff, docs, random articles, flights, tools… and then I lose the one tab I actually needed =) So I built a Chrome extension that replaces the New Tab page with a simple dashboard that automatically groups all your currently open tabs by website/domain.
It’s basically the view I always wished Chrome had.
What it does:
- Groups open tabs by domain automatically (Google / GitHub / Notion / etc.)
- Shows favicons + color-coded groups so it’s easy to scan
- Jump to any tab instantly
- Close a tab or a whole group in one click
- Pin your “always-open” domains/groups
- Search tabs by title / URL / domain
- Light/dark mode
- Remove duplicate tabs (I somehow always open the same page 3 times…)
And lovely cat that wake up when you open 50+ tabs. And Easter egg - it fails when you close group of tabs under the cat. Then it says some funny phrases.
Chrome Web Store: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/smart-tabs/inogfehnhcebnnojoifmabiccedlllpl
Would love feedback - especially from anyone who also lives with 50+ tabs open. Anything you’d change or add?
Gay sports reporter’s hilarious on-air comment about quarterback Drake Maye goes viral
Emmy award-winning LGBTQ+ journalist Colton Bradford has gone viral for agreeing with raucous Patriots fans that he, too, is “gay for Maye”.
On Saturday (24 January), Bradford was in Denver reporting for NBC10 Boston ahead of the New England Patriots’ AFC Championship game against the Denver Broncos, which was taking place the following day.
“I feel like we’re live in South Boston right now!” Bradford declared as he was surrounded by a group of fervent Patriots supporters.
Bradford asked the excitable group if they had a final message for their team’s quarterback, Drake Maye, ahead of the game, and a couple of fans began eagerly chanting: “Gay for Maye! Gay for Maye!”
“You know what? As a gay man, I also am gay for Maye,” Bradford jokingly declared.

— Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) January 25, 2026
The fans seemed to appreciate Bradford’s quip. One tweeted: “Colton is a legend.” Another went into more detail, writing: “That’s honestly a great moment. Reads the room, leans into it, and keeps it light without feeling forced. Crowd loved it, and it came off genuine instead of awkward.”
Colton Bradford joined the NBC10 Boston news team as an anchor in July 2022 following years as co-host and reporter for the station’s entertainment/lifestyle show “The Hub Today.”
His broadcast career began at the age of 16 on the radio in his small hometown of Mobile, Alabama.
Patriots fans were no doubt extra gay for Maye – who is a top contender for this season’s Most Valuable Player award – following the Sunday game, after the New England side secured a 10-7 win over the Broncos to enter the Super Bowl LX.
They will play against Seattle Seahawks in championship game on 8 February, which will take place in Santa Clara at the Levi’s Stadium.

Green leader Zack Polanski parties with supporters in London gay bar where he once worked
Green Party leader Zack Polanski is trending on X.com after partying in a London gay bar with his supporters.
Polanski, who was elected as leader of the Green Party of England and Wales in a landslide election in September last year, has been a hit with the LGBTQ+ community thanks to his hopeful politics.
The leader, who himself is gay, has publicly supported LGBTQ+ rights and is a staunch supporter of trans rights, so it should come as no surprise that he was filmed partying and greeting supporters at London LGBTQ+ venue Heaven.

Zack Polanski joined clubbers on Sunday (25 January) for the launch of his party’s Green Space – a new nationwide community initiative from the Green Party. All money raised from the event will go towards getting Greens elected.

Heated Rivalry: Gay Olympian Gus Kenworthy reveals this female musician was his ‘Rose Landry’
Gay Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy revealed that a famous musician was his version of Shane Hollander’s love interest Rose Landry, as he shares how he related to the closeted gay characters of Heated Rivalry.
The 34-year-old, who will be representing Team GB at this year’s Winter Olympics in Italy, came out as gay in 2015. However, before that, he was romantically linked to Miley Cyrus. That experience, Kenworthy says, paralleled the show’s depiction of Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and movie star Rose Landry (Sophie Nélisse).
Heated Rivalry follows the central, forbidden romance of Ilya (Connor Storrie) and Shane. However, along the way, the latter gets into a relationship with the lovely Rose, who gently helps him come out.
“At first, I didn’t understand the big deal,” Kenwrothy said in an interview with The New Yorker about Heated Rivalry.
“It was fun to watch, but it was sort of smut. I honestly thought, ‘All these thirsty gays! Y’all are just horny.’ Like, you could watch porn?
“People kept telling me, ‘Just wait – it tugs on the heartstrings.’ And then it did. The third episode changed things for me.”
The third episode shifts focus to closeted hockey player Scott Hunter (François Arnaud) and his secret love interest, barista Kip (Robbie GK).
‘Miley Cyrus was my own Rose’

“I actually wrote a message to the show’s creator [Jacob Tierney] because I was so moved, and didn’t expect to be,” Kenworthy continued.
“And I don’t think l’ve ever seen myself reflected onscreen like that, in such a substantial way. The parallels are kind of insane.
“I also had a secret relationship with these clandestine meetings and hookups. And Miley Cyrus was my own Rose, this famous person that I was suddenly linked to, and as much as I kind of wanted it – because that’s the person you would want to be with if you’re straight, someone successful and beautiful and talented – it’s not the same as when you’re with a guy.”
Since the show has been the talk of the town, Cyrus herself weighed in. She declared that she’s “so in” to contribute music for season two.
She shared: “I have not watched yet, but this is on my to-do list now. It’s all I’ve heard about, every conversation I’ve had today has started with you, ‘You have to [watch it].’”
“I had the same yearning – to be in love, to be public”

Gus Kenworthy also revealed he “really related” to the character of Scott.
“He wanted to be out, but really, just truly felt like he couldn’t be, because of his circumstances,” Kenworthy noted.
“That was me for so many years. I had the same yearning – to be in love, to be public, and to not have to hide.”
Kenworthy’s statement arrives as he comes out of retirement for his fourth Olympics.
During his time away from the sport, he has made NSFW homemade jockstraps and launched an LGBTQ+ book club with Dylan Mulvaney. He’s also starred in the horror anthology series American Horror Story and appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars.
Heated Rivalry is streaming now on Crave in Canada, HBO in the US and Sky and Now TV in the UK.

Major LGBTQ+ Pride organisation accused of silencing board members over trans rights
Two Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras members have accused the organisation of silencing them for supporting trans rights.
SGLMG directors, Luna Choo and Damien Nguyen, claimed its Board of Directors “completely stripped” the pair of their administrative accounts after they criticised its decision to reject a motion on trans rights.
The Pride organisation faced widespread criticism after announcing it would not uphold a set of resolutions proposed in November 2025 by members of the public during its annual general meeting.
One of the resolutions rejected by the Board of Directors called for the main focus of the 2026 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras festival to be the rights of transgender and non-binary people by “encouraging parade floats to show support for the trans community.”
Directors argued in a statement last Tuesday that the motion would restrict the “creative direction” of the parade’s participants and, it said, was “inconsistent with our standard application process.”

Days after the announcement, Nguyen and Choo claimed the Board had allegedly locked their official Mardi Gras email accounts after they expressed support for the member resolutions.
The pair had previously responded to a request from an individual urging the organisation to reaffirm its support for trans rights as several Australian provinces, including Queensland, have begun banning puberty blockers for trans youth.
In a set of emails sent on 16 January, seen by PinkNews, both Choo and Nguyen said that, while they could not speak “on behalf of the Board,” they unequivocally supported highlighting injustices against the community, while expressing personal support in implementing the member resolutions.
In her own email on the request, Choo wrote: “I agree with you that these resolutions are especially important now that the Northern Territory government has ceased public health access to puberty blockers and gender-affirming hormones for people under the age of 18.”
In a joint email on Friday (23 January), both Choo and Nguyen again responded to the concerned individual, claiming they could not see replies because their administrative rights had been allegedly removed.
The pair added that they were “not permitted to disclose confidential board discussions” but that they would continue to “push and vote in support of agreed upon members’ resolutions on transgender rights.”
“Our Mardi Gras accounts have been unjustly locked just minutes after our last response to you,” they wrote. “We will keep you in the loop on whatever we believe we are allowed to when it comes to trans justice and equal rights.”
Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras denies allegations as ‘completely false’
A spokesperson for the organisation’s Board of Directors denied the allegations in a comment to PinkNews, adding: “Any suggestion that access to official Mardi Gras email accounts may be restricted on the basis of views on trans rights is completely false.”
They added: “Access to email accounts is governed by directors’ obligations and established governances processes, not political or ideological positions. It is disappointing that internal governance matters are being misrepresented and politicised.”
The Board of Directors faced similar allegations by trans woman and former director, Charlie Murphy, who claimed she and other members faced “disciplinary action” for joining a queer rights protest in 2021.
Another former director, Skip Blofield, made similar accusations, claiming they were stood down in 2022, allegedly alongside other trans people and people of colour.
Luc Velez, a former Board director who stepped down in 2025, accused current directors of “suppressing dissent” and caving to Australian politicians who, he argued, have “no interest in standing up for the community.”
“The Mardi Gras Board has refused to use their platform to advocate for our community,” he added. “The Parade is the time of year when so many people are looking to and thinking about us queer folk.
“It’s the perfect opportunity to send a strong message to politicians – yet this Board is instead mobilising its resources to punish those directors who refuse to comprimise on trans rights.”

Zohran Mamdani urges New Yorkers to stay home and read Heated Rivalry during snow storm
New York mayor Zohran Mamdani has issued excellent advice to the city’s residents amid a dangerous winter storm that has dumped double-digits worth of snow on the Big Apple: stay inside and read gay hockey romance Heated Rivalry.
The New York City area was hit with a huge storm on Sunday (25 January), which saw a record-breaking – for the date – amount of snow fall whilst flights were grounded, bus riders faced disruption and schools swapped in-person classes for online ones on Monday (26 January).
“The snow is coming down heavily across our city, and I can think of no better excuse for New Yorkers to say home, take a long nap or take advantage of our public library’s offer of free access to Heated Rivalry on e-book or audiobook for anyone with a library card,” Mamdani – who was elected mayor of the city in November – said during a press conference, making those standing with him chuckle.
Mamdani’s remarks come just a day after the New York Public Library announced e-book and audiobook copies of Heated Rivalry and other books in Rachel Reid’s Game Changers series would be immediately available to anyone with an NYPL library card. The promotion runs until 14 February, aka Valentine’s Day.
“Now, with instant access, there’s room for everyone at the cottage!” the library said in the announcement.

(@hearts530) January 25, 2026
The second book in the Game Changers series, Heated Rivalry has become a runaway success following its spicy, smash-hit television adaptation starring Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie.
The book and TV series both follow two professional hockey players – Ilya Rozanov (Storrie) and Shane Hollander (Williams), who are rivals on the ice but lovers between the sheets.
“Shane and Ilya are two of the biggest stars in major league hockey, bound by ambition, rivalry and a magnetic pull neither of them fully understands,” the show’s synopsis reads, for those who have somehow missed the Heated Rivalry train.
“Their secret fling evolves into an eight-year journey of self-discovery and rivalry. Over time, they must learn how to chase their desires on and off the ice.
“Torn between the sport they live for and the love they can’t ignore, Shane and Ilya must decide if there is room in their fiercely competitive world for something as fragile and as powerful as real love.”

The popularity of the show has made Storrie and Williams the hottest new talent in the world, with the pair recently presenting at the Golden Globes and selected as torchbearers for the upcoming Winter Olympics.
Mamdani using the popular queer series to promote safety amid the storm comes as no surprise, given his unashamedly pro-LGBTQ+ stance which saw his election campaign firmly centre queer rights.
Following his win, Mamdani has pledged to protect trans New Yorkers amid on-going attacks by the Trump administration and appointed appointed Jewish trans woman Abby Stein to his transition team.
Mamdani’s unapologetic LGBTQ+ allyship paid off, with exit polls revealing the vast majority of queer New Yorkers (81 per cent) voted for him.
Comparatively, straight and/or cisgender voters were almost completely divided between Mamdani and his rival Andrew Cuomo, with 46 per cent voting for Mamdani and 45 per cent voting for Cuomo.

CodeSOD: Threading the Needle in a Haystack of Files
Today we return to Jessica (previously), who still suffers under Windows Forms. But it's not all Windows Forms. There's also random CLI tools kicking around. CLI tools which should really be designed to run as a service,
Let's start with the Main method of this particular tool.
static void Main(string[] args)
{
if (!LoadConfigs())
{
return;
}
if (args.Length > 0)
{
if (args.Any(a => string.Compare(a, "Test", true) == 0))
{
RunTest(out string message);
Console.WriteLine(message);
return;
}
}
_userCache = new Dictionary<string, Employee>();
_itemCache = new Dictionary<string, bool>();
InitializeFileCache();
WriteLog("File watcher started.");
Task.Run(() => { ProcessLogQueue(); });
Task.Run(() => { ProcessFilesInFolder(); });
while (true)
{
Thread.Sleep(1000);
}
}
We first try and load a config file, and if we fail, we quit. Then, if the word "Test" appears in any of the CLI arguments, we run a test of some kind, and then quit. Then, we prepare a pair of cache objects that map IDs to either employees or boolean values, and initialize that from a file. Then we kick off a pair of background threads, and then we sleep forever. Now, there are obvious nits here- you're not meant to kick off tasks directly, really, and async/await keywords are a "better" way to do this.
That they aren't awaiting the tasks is a problem we'll come back to.
For now, let's start with the logging portion. You can see WriteLog, which Jessica did not provide the implementation of, but I can infer it's pretty simple: it puts your message into a thread safe queue. How do I know this? Because of ProcessLogQueue's implementation:
private static void ProcessLogQueue()
{
if (!Directory.Exists(_config.LogLocation))
{
Directory.CreateDirectory(_config.LogLocation);
WriteLog($"Created Log location: {_config.LogLocation}");
}
while (true)
{
while (_concurrentQueue.TryDequeue(out string result))
{
string fileName = _config.LogLocation + $@"\{DateTime.Now.ToString("yyyy-MM-dd")}_CreationLog.log";
if (!File.Exists(fileName))
{
using var fs = File.Create(fileName);
}
using (var fw = File.AppendText(fileName))
{
fw.WriteLine(result);
}
}
Thread.Sleep(5000);
}
}
They wrote their own logging library, but left out anything like "log levels" or "filtering" or "safe error handling against write failures". Mostly, this pulls a message off the queue and appends it to a file. It doesn't keep the filehandle open, which I'd make a comment about the performance overhead, but a bigger barrier to performance is the fact that if the queue is empty, this thread sleeps for five seconds. So if you're not logging so fast that multiple messages are in the queue, you're spacing out your log messages by five seconds at a time.
What's important to note about this logger is that this is not a logging program. It's a file watcher which needs to log messages. They just reinvented the logging library badly, is all. It'd be trivially easy to drop in a logging library and ditch this entirely.
How about processing files?
private static void ProcessFilesInFolder()
{
while (true)
{
bool canAccess = RunTest(out string message);
if (canAccess)
{
foreach (var file in Directory.GetFiles(_config.WatchLocation, "*.csv"))
{
ProcessFile(file);
}
}
else
{
WriteLog(message);
}
Thread.Sleep(60000);
}
}
Here, we see RunTest is used again- clearly this is a test to see if we can read from the correct directory. If we can't, we keep trying once a minute, though. If we can, we scan a directory, do something to all the CSV files, and try again in a minute. Once again, we don't see any error handling around Directory.GetFiles. Maybe there is in ProcessFile somewhere.
But the key here is that if I'm reading the docs right, exceptions in Task objects arrive at the main thread when you call Wait or otherwise check the result of the task. Which means this is the kind of program which fails silently- nothing checks for exceptions in the child threads, and since the child threads are where the work happens, it's easy for this program to reach a state where the main thread spins away, waking up every second just to go back to sleep, without any errors being detected.
And that brings us to the other key point here. Remember those two "cache" dictionaries? They're populated out of a file, and the entire point of those caches is to keep tabs on which entries have already been processed. Something the program can't do otherwise. I mean, it could, because processed IDs are stored in the database and there is an API that lets you query the database. It just doesn't. It relies on a local cache file to tell it what it's already processed. And while you or I might use some sort of unique key constraint to keep existing entries from being reprocessed by the database, the people behind this did not. Which means if the cache file is inaccurate (because the program crashed), or worse gets lost this processing program will create hordes of duplicate entries in the database.
Which is a thing that has happened, and is the reason Jessica ended up looking into this code. The customer refuses to run the service, because they ran it and it created duplicate entries. Now they don't trust it to work correctly.

The cURL Project Drops Bug Bounties Due To AI Slop
Over the past years, the author of the cURL project, [Daniel Stenberg], has repeatedly complained about the increasingly poor quality of bug reports filed due to LLM chatbot-induced confabulations, also known as ‘AI slop’. This has now led the project to suspend its bug bounty program starting February 1, 2026.
Examples of such slop are provided by [Daniel] in a GitHub gist, which covers a wide range of very intimidating-looking vulnerabilities and seemingly clear exploits. Except that none of them are vulnerabilities when actually examined by a knowledgeable developer. Each is a lengthy word salad that an LLM churned out in seconds, yet which takes a human significantly longer to parse before dealing with the typical diatribe from the submitter.
Although there are undoubtedly still valid reports coming in, the truth of the matter is that the ease with which bogus reports can be generated by anyone who has access to an LLM chatbot and some spare time has completely flooded the bug bounty system and is overwhelming the very human developers who have to dig through the proverbial midden to find that one diamond ring.
We have mentioned before how troubled bounty programs are for open source, and how projects like Mesa have already had to fight off AI slop incidents from people with zero understanding of software development.

JoJo Siwa updates fans on plans to have children with Chris Hughes
Former Dance Moms star JoJo Siwa is once again talking kids with Love Island’s Chris Hughes. This time, it’s because of pop star Meghan Trainor.
JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes met when they both appeared on 2025’s Celebrity Big Brother. Since then, their whirlwind romance has taken on a life of its own.
Late last year, the “Karma” singer, 22, and her boyfriend, 33, sparked festive engagement rumours. Though it seems no one went down on one knee, JoJo has now shared she is entertaining the idea of starting a family with Chris.
“Meghan Trainor once told me, ‘You will know you love somebody when you love them so much you want to duplicate them and you want to pop a baby out that is made from them.’” Siwa shared with E!News.
Meghan Trainor recently announced the arrival of her third child, her first daughter, who was born via surrogate, in an Instagram post.
“One of the first things that I said to her after I started dating Chris was, ‘I get what you’re saying now.”
JoJo also continued: “I love [Chris] so much. I need there to be a mini [Chris].’
“He sent me a baby photo of him the other day. It’s like him in a trash can. It’s really cute. And I was like, ‘Uh oh.’”

Her comments follow the singer’s post of an AI-generated photo on social media showing what their future children may look like. “My heart wasn’t ready for this,” she wrote with the image ChatGPT created.
Speaking about that post, JoJo confirmed: “He definitely knows it’s out there.
“A couple of days went by and I was like, ‘Babe, why don’t you ever talk to me or say anything about this?’
“He was like, ‘Babe, we had a full conversation about it,'” she also recounted. “And I was like, ‘We definitely didn’t.’ And he was like, ‘Oh yeah, that was with Jack’ – his best friend.”
This isn’t the first time JoJo has spoken about starting a family with Chris. Previously, JoJo stated she “absolutely” wants children. She elaborated: “I crave them, I absolutely would love to have babies. Yeah, it’s absolutely in my future and I don’t think it’s that far away.”
