Fans of Victoria Beckham have unearthed a clip that proves she has a habit of upstaging brides in light of the Beckham family feud… well, sort of.

On Monday (19 January) Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest child of David and Victoria Beckham, shared a lengthy statement on Instagram in which he made a series of claims. Among them was that his mother, Posh Spice, upstaged his wedding to Nicola Peltz by scrapping her planned wedding dress and then hijacking his first dance. Neither Victoria nor David have yet commented on the claims.

The feud has caused a great deal of conversation with people rooting back through the family’s history for potential signs of trouble. This has included people bringing up Brooklyn’s ex Chloë Grace Moretz and her past comments about the Beckhams.

Multiple people have also unearthed and shared the same clip of Victoria upstaging yet another wedding. Except this time it’s a fictional wedding.

The clip circulating social media is taken from the seventh episode of season two of Ugly Betty. Vera Wang, the legendary designer, is fitting Wilhelmina Slater’s (Vanessa Williams) wedding dress. However, Posh Spice pops out from behind a curtain claiming “this is major!”, wearing a shimmering silver maid of honour dress that distracts everyone from the bride to be.

To keep from being upstaged, Wilhelmina replaces Posh’s dress with a less flattering option. However, you can’t hold a diva down for long as we next see Vicky wearing a belted version of the dress on a night on the town and once again upstaging her supposed best friend.

“Whose big day is it?” newscaster Suzuki St. Pierre (Alec Mapa) wonders during a broadcast, which feels apt given the discussions no doubt taking place around coffee machines and break spaces in offices around the world this week.

Sharing the clip one person on X/Twitter wrote: “Victoria Beckham making someone else’s wedding about herself happened in ‘Ugly Betty’ too 19 years ago.” Responding to the post someone joked: “Life imitates art!!”

Another wrote: “Thats exactly how I imagine she treated the daughter-in-law too.” Sharing the same clip, another person captioned it: “Victoria Beckham upstaging the bride is literally a storyline from Ugly Betty.” Another jest from a user was: “All Nicola needed to do was lock her in a closet for the ceremony,” referencing how Wilhelmina ultimately stops Posh from upstaging the actual wedding.

Someone else laughed: “Then the rest was still unwritten hahaha.”
