Frozen Insight in a Moving World

I don't generally write a lot (i've got 3 more articles on different topics i'm fleshing out still, including one about building EWARS for the WHO, a large disease surveillance platform), but i've been pretty active in discussions around AI on here ranging from vocally against, to middling reluctant acceptance. I thought i'd try and put down what I was feeling and tried to find a way to frame it. I've seen a few articles cropping up that are framing technology around Pirsigs metaphysics of quality, but I felt like none of them really went deep enough to compare previous things.

I also wanted to share a timeline that doesn't result in complete and utter cultural and environmental collapse, despite being firmly in the anti-AI camp. I did try and be a bit more well-rounded here, and try and show what the concerns are with the stated pros of AI, and how the pushback isn't on the positive aspects, it's on what we have to trade in order to have those positives.

Edit: Added culture tag as it's more about overarching culture, technology culture, and where AI sits within it's evolution.
