Even though white supremacist influencer Nick Fuentes is officially banned from Instagram, his fans are reposting clips of his misogynist, racist, and neo-Nazi content, garnering millions of views, according to Media Matters.

The media watchdog organization said that a network of Fuentes’ fans, who call themselves “groypers,” have been uploading clips of Fuentes’ videos. While the video-sharing platform TikTok has banned searches for “Nick Fuentes” and “groyper,” Instagram allows such searches.

“Instagram’s algorithm seems to be picking up videos from small groyper accounts and blasting them into virality,” Media Matters wrote, adding that Instagram has allowed Fuentes to “reach new audiences in ways that were previously impossible.”

Some groypers clip Fuentes’ content to make him seem like a funny and harmless figure: showing him making jokes, silly gestures, facial expressions, dance moves, or enthusiastic comments about cartoons.

But other viral clips reveal Fuentes’ actual beliefs. One video of Fuentes mocking violence against women received over 2.1 million views on Instagram, even though it was posted by a groyper account with only 1,664 followers, Media Matters reported.

Noticing the recent success of his content on the platform, Fuentes told his followers in a broadcast that Instagram used to delete his videos and ban accounts that posted them.

“Now,” Fuentes said, “I do a show and I’m just like, ‘Yeah, Jews run the world, Blacks need to go to jail, women need to shut up.’ It gets 8 million views on Instagram! And it just goes to show it’s like the second that they lift the censorship boot off our necks — literally the second — it becomes a sensation.”
